Subject:Why does Stylus Studio want to connect to the internet at startup? Author:P S Date:13 Jul 2005 07:21 AM
Hello!
Every time I start the programm it wants to connect to the internet. Why? Can I stop it from doing so?
I'm using Studio XML Professional Ed. Rel. 3, build 377L (just installed an update downloaded today). I've got a licence and the software is activated.
I thought I read in a thread in this forum that the current update would include a fix for this. Am I wrong?

I see. As I'm behind a proxy in my company the connection effort brings up a proxy login window. That's kind of annoying because I've got to close this every time and therefore I would like to stop Stylus Studio from doing so. Is this possible?
I saw a thread in the forum about a registry key that prevents automatic updates. Would this help?
Thanks, Peter<br>

Disabling check for updates would eliminate most traffic, but Stylus Studio would still try to ping its license server.
You may want to instruct your machine's firewall to disable Internet access altogether for Stylus Studio, assuming you never need to access files/information through your network connection...
