Subject:Support for Oracle tns names ? Author:John Kotes Date:04 Nov 2005 12:32 AM
Seems as though the SS product (6r3-377o) doesn't support creating URL Oracle connections using tns names file. I searched the DataDirect site and found that there is jdbc support for Oracle URL connections using tns (http://media.datadirect.com/download/docs/jdbc/jdbcref/title.htm).
So, I tried to manually force it into an SS *.rdbxml file (see below) and then reloaded it. But, this doesnt work

... the issue ...
when I use another XML mapping tool - it allows me to connect to the same database via TNS name using the same user account with the MS ADO OLEDB driver - I can see all schemas
However, when I use jdbc driver to connect to the above database directly with the sameaccount - I can connect - but some schemas are filtered, i.e. StlyusStudio does not show them<br>
is this a drive issue ? thus the reason I was curious how use TNS names with the StlyusStudio datadirect jdbc driver<br>
fyi - the datadirect url link I provided seems more current
thanks
