It would be great if eXelon provided support for the Xalan processor.

The processor inside Stylus makes every attempt to match the W3C standard. We will continue our development efforts to match the working W3C standards.

If there are any particular features of the Xalan implementation that you find missing or incompatible with the processor inside Stylus, please post those here to EDN.

The advanced features of Stylus require an advanced XSLT processor. This advanced processor was developed by eXcelon Corporation for our products. In order to continue to make Stylus the best editing environment available for XSL stylesheets, we must continue this approach. We have a corporate committment to the W3C standards and have a history of supporting these standards better than most other companies on the market.

Thank you for your comments.

I do appreciate the technological sophistication of your product. In fact I am very grateful, since it the first product I have seen that simplifies the complicated development environment of XML/XSL to the level that allows it to be introduced into the corporate world.

However, if you are designing in Stylus and then implementing using a different parser, then you end up having to test your design manually as well as the integrated environment of the Stylus.

It is really not whether Stylus parser is inferior, more like it may be more advanced or more forgiving than another parser.

The fact of the matter is that W3 standards leave a lot to the implementor's disgression.

For example, Xalan consistently generates transformation warnings if I use the automatically generated templates in Stylus.
