Boss AtHomeSubject: Disable HTML tags in Sense:X

Is there any way to disable showing HTML tag names in the popup completion display when editing xsl, other than disabling Sense:X all together?

I use a custom xslt processor engine which uses several of the same elements as HTML except that the capitalization is different. For example, a capital letter "P" for a paragraph. Sense:X turns it to a lower-case "p" so in order to get the capital back I have to 1) arrow left over the space 2) backspace to delete the "p" 3) retype the "P" and hit space again.

Is there any way to change/disable the behavior for HTML via the languages.xml file?

Hi Sheila,
if you want to remove the HTML entries from the Sense:X window, you can try renaming the xhtml11-flat.dtd file from the Configuration Files folder.

Hope this helps,
Alberto

Thank you, Alberto, that did the trick.

Is it possible to disable fo tags in a similar way?

Hi Sheila,
in order to remove fo tags you need to remove them from the languages.xml file.

Fantastic, Alberto! -- that was next on my customization list, how to add custom tags/language sets.

So last question: I read an entry in the Feature Request section asking for an enhancement to protect a customized languages.xml file from being overwritten during an update.

Until that is implemented, would it be possible to add a new language by using some sort of a linked include xml file, rather than putting it directly in the languages.xml? At least that way the new language wouldn't get completely blown away during an update, and it would be reasonably quick to add the "include link" to the new languages.xml

Hi Sheila,
in the next version of Stylus the XML and XSL editor will load the Sense:X informations also from the XMLSchema associated with the project folder where the document has been placed.

Hope this helps,
Alberto

Unfortunately having it with the schema wouldn't really suit my purposes, as I'd end up with the same file sprinkled in many, many projects. I'd have to take extra steps to not include it when I zip up project builds for clients or contractors who use other IDEs. And I almost always work without a schema when I'm developing.

This is getting toward the Feature Request side of things, so if it would be better for me to start a new thread in that forum please let me know, but as a suggestion: could SS first look for a customized Sense:X file from somewhere in the install directory (the default location), but then if there is one at the project / schema location it could load it.

Hi Sheila,
we understand your needs; the next version of Stylus will first look for languages.xml in the C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Stylus Studio folder, before looking in the install directory.

Hope this helps,
Alberto
