I suspected a namespace issue, too, but the ishobjects XML seems to be in no namespace, see for example https://www.oxygenxml.com/forum/post55006.html#p55006

That's not a safe inference, because XPath is context-dependent. For example, it depends on the namespace context. I would check carefully for namespace dependencies. But there are other possible dependencies as well, which makes it impossible to debug when we can only see an isolated fragment of your code.
