My sense here in the US (Colorado is all I'm truly familiar with) is that while XSLT and XML are very valuable to have in your toolkit, there are few jobs where that is all you'll need for you job. You also need some general-purpose language, such as Java or C (or their derivatives), and/or web-centric language, such as Javascript or PHP.
