Re: Update Available for Intel SOA Expressway XSLT 2.0
Russel,

An interesting development. It was only recently and after quite some effort that I found out (with the help of this list) that Intel was working on an XSLT 2.0 processor. What is the compliance level you are after? Is it supposed to become an SA processor, or do you plan to stick with Basic conformance yet? Do you have some kind of timeline available?

And, most important of all: do you plan on keeping it generally (free / paid) available to the public, or will it be locked in SOA Expressway after the beta is over? If you choose to have it generally available, will it receive a programmable interface (other than commandline)?

I'd love to try it out and report bugs, request features etc, but I'd be even more inclined to do so if it remains available as stand-alone processor.

Regards,
Abel

I am pleased to announce that an update to the Intel SOA Expressway XSLT 2.0 Processor is available for download from whatif.intel.com, the Intel experimental software site. This XSLT processor is a beta release of the processor built into Intel SOA Expressway (http://www.intel.com/software/soae/), a software-appliance designed to simplify, accelerate, and secure the Enterprise SOA architecture. For more on SOA appliance use models, visit www.comparedatapower.com

We have released a beta version of this processor as a standalone executable program so that anyone in the XML and XSLT community can try it out for personal use and evaluation. Because our XSLT processor is normally only available bundled with Intel SOA Expressway, it's difficult for anyone outside of that product's customer base in the web services market to try out. We believe that XSLT 2.0 is a significant step forward for the XSLT standard. With this release we hope to show our progress toward this standard for our market as well as demonstrate our commitment to XML technologies to the broader XML community.

This update fixes some conformance issues and fixes a bug reported by a user. We invite you to download the program and let us know what you think by commenting in our WhatIf software forum at http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/whatif-alpha-software/.
