For batch processing take a look at Kernow:
http://kernowforsaxon.sf.net/  (specifically the "directory" tab)

If you need automated batch processing then have a look at the sample
Ant buildfile, which allows you to call the directory processing from
Ant... (which can be set up as a scheduled task etc)
