Phd Project - XSL for XML to X3D
Dear Micheal,

Thanks for the reply.

I note, 1) that firefox is not a good development environment.

2) In my XML file, the elements are in fact <Artist_2ndname>, <Artist_1stname>

3) With regards to your third point, yes I appreciate that more reading of XML and XSLT would clearly be advantageous. However, the project is quite ambitious, and I am the sole developer.

So I am simultaneously learning

-MySQL
-PHP
-XML/XSLT
-X3D

alongside the development of a realtime multichannel audio environment built in PureData

as well as gathering data and information about the field under study, namely sound art.

There is a year left of the project, and it should be clear to you that gaining a comprehensive understanding of all these languages in this time would be a real challenge. Instead, I am posting up to the relevent boards in the hope that solutions may be forthcoming from the respective development communities.

Are there any particular resources you would recommend for learning XML/XSLT if such solutions are not forthcoming? I have spent a week or so dipping into online tutorials etc, its just that the specifics of XML/XSLT with regards to X3D remain rather obscured.

Thanks and regards
J Milo Taylor
