Re: Future of XSL Stylesheet Writing?
JimM says;

'Oh, definitely...SQL was popular for only about 7 years and then'

SQL is a different beast then XSLT (SQL is now entrenched
technology)...we all know that a lot of stuff (database servers
etc...) was sold on the back of its usage ... can't say that the route
to commercialization is as clear with XSLT, which will limit its
lifetime and promotion from the larger software powers that be.

As for parallelization, anecdotal evidence shows that there are lots
of situations and scenarios that most XSLT processors does not do as
well as expected .... this maybe due to implementation issues, I do
not have a test suite to back up any of these assertions ... be
interesting if anyone has started down this route.

lastly, XSLT falls under my 'too cool/useful to be adopted widely'
rule of thumb, which is why of course I have been using it since 1999
;)
