Well, recently I had a discussion on the Saxon list that ended up about "how to interpret x or y from the specs". And Michael (correctly, I think) requested me to firstly discuss the xslt/spec related things on the xslt list. Hence I tried it the other way around, this time, trying to find out whether this is implementation defined behavior, or whether it is prohibited by the specs (meaning: is 'running indefinitely' wrong, prohibited, or whatever).

Well, I'll try the Saxon list nevertheless ;)
