Which is a good thing.
We don't use one-letter variables (I hope).

Space and keystorkes do not need economy.

This is not completely true.

Code is far more often read than written, so it is a false economy to
worry about the number of keystrokes.

Whenever there are 3-4 names and each of them is twice longer than it could be (just for "readability") very easy to end up with so long lines that one would need to scroll horizontally to read the whole text.

This is a case, when putting too much effort for readability achieves
the reverse effect.

I am not pushing anybody to follow my rules -- gave them just an example of a small and simple set of rules that someone (I myself) actually follows successfully.

Clearly, more than one such set of rules can exist and to demand
followers of one to convert to another just isn't mature. :o)

Also, here we are talking about "cosmetics", which is so much trivial
and superficial compared to "real health" of a system. :o)
