The most common cause of this is the the DTD applies a namespace to all or
some of the elements causing your XPath not to match.
For guidelines on matching namespaced elements see http://www.dpawson.co.uk/xsl/sect2/N5536.html especially numbers 13 and 23. If you're still struggling show the XML, DTD and XSLT.
