You don't make it clear what format you want your output in. Are you
trying to produce SVG, HTML, PDF - or are you asking what the best output
format would be? Nor have you described the structure of your input, other
than that it's XML.

It's going to be difficult for anybody to give advice without knowing what
the input and output to the process are.
