That's funny. When I'm working with HTML my editor of choice is TextPad
and when I'm using XMLSpy I usually have my files open in TextPad at the
same time so I can switch between the two. Sometimes I just want the
bells, but not the whistles.

I hadn't thought of that. I'm still grinding along with a text editor,
curmudgeon that I am.

I think the use of separate begin/end tags is usually due to the use of
certain XML editors rather than to a fondness for keystrokes.
