Thanks so much for your time and sorry for being unclear. You got it exactly in the last form, let me include one special case: 1 222 3 4 5 6 7 8 forces: 111 222 3 4 5 6 7 8 -----Original Message----- From: David Carlisle [mailto:davidc@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, May 23, 2005 3:47 PM To: xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Switching Between Two Column Mode and One Column Mode - Peek Ahead? Sorry your problem is still rather underspecified. I can't work out from yoru description which order you want the entries. normally "two column" refers to an ordering 1 4 2 5 3 6 that is, one reads the whole of the first column before reading the 2nd. But your comments about looking at pairs implies that pehaps you mean to set things up as 1 2 3 4 5 6 which is a "two column table" but not really a 2 column layout in the sense of a newpaper column. I think probably you want this last form, except that you want a spanning entry for long entries, so if 3 is long you want 1 2 333 4 5 6 and if 4 is long you want 1 2 333 444 5 6 David ________________________________________________________________________ This e-mail has been scanned for all viruses by Star.
