<xsl:sort select="translate('JGe','SXx',grade)"/>

That looks right to me. (My plea is having had to teach this afternoon -- XSLT! :-)


Of course, for a more flexible sort I would try Jirka's suggestion.

Yes -- I hope the OP saw that. It's the canonical "correct" answer, I believe, if you want something general and extensible.


Hopefulliy I'm not missing something obvious
