Hmmm... <strong-feeling>I think it exactly fits what the purpose of
this list is -- advancing the understanding and skills of those in
whom subscribe. I could be wrong, but gaining a greater understanding
of XSLT through the help of others and having a place in which its
members can help one other become better programmers was the exact
reason this list was started. Its obviously not for the advertising
dollars.

this is not the point, the point is that this list over the years has not turned into an 'xml-dev' is that it focuses on XSL.

Having the courtesy to of course precede announcment posts with a
standard marking such that email readers can be preset to capture and
file such "ANNouncements" has become pretty standard amongst many
lists, including this one. In fact its often you see announcements
for products that have a licensing fee associated with them make there
way across the list without so much a scoff. So to suggest that an

where the product has something to do with XSLT, and is preceded with an ANN: then this serves the list, as it is related to XSL.

But a post that 'wants to help people write'....like I said no offense intended....but you really are stretching it.
