> Is there a list of elements that can cause an infinite loop? well xslt is a programming language so more or less aby combination of elements can be made to program a loop. If you allow the calling of external xpath functions then they may loop, in which case any xslt element that takes an Xpath expression may loop, so that would include anything with a test, select, match attribute and anything with an attribute value template, so that is almost all xslt. If you restrict XPath so it itself can't loop (which is probably teh case for the core Xpath1 functions (It's not the case for core Xpath2 ) then you need to look at anything that moves the current node around the input tree, so that would be <xsl:-for-each and xsl-apply-templates. or calls named templates so xsl:call-template David ________________________________________________________________________ This e-mail has been scanned for all viruses by Star Internet.
