It's funny how obvious things get overlooked. And in this case not just :) Well, for 3 days you're doing well so be encouraged by that. Actually, you would be surprised at just how easy it is to make the changes but the other thing that I didn't mention in my last email that I should have is that on the flipside of performance is practicality, reality, and the fact then when you're using it for a one off transformation performance may not be as much of an issue when transforming small files. Exactly. In this case, I happen to have two things that have to get out the door tomorrow, so it's all about what I can do without bending my brain overly much. If you do find yourself with the need to continue development in XSL-FO or XSLT I do encourage you to do some quick research as you will be greatly encouraged when you find out just how much is possible with these technologies. I think I'm already past the point of giving up. :) What my plans are: 1) to write some short story templates, which will be variants on the ones I already have. :) 2) to write an IEEE paper format -- no one seems to have written one for XSL-FO...which seems odd. If I'm wrong and someone has, I'd *really* appreciate it. 3) to write some cool output transformations for http://xmlresume.sourceforge.net/ -- _Deirdre http://deirdre.net "Cannot run out of time.
