It's also worth looking at the XQuery home page. There have been test suites for XQuery published by Microsoft, IBM, and NIST. Many of the tests are in fact XPath 2.0 tests, and those that aren't will exercise your error handling. My own tests aren't readily publishable because they include a lot of stuff submitted by users over the years which I can't easily disentangle; they are also severely under-documented.
