On the contrary, given a sample input file and a sample output file, adding xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xsl:version="1.0" after first checking that the xsl prefix isn't already in use (and using a different one if necessary) will produce an xslt stylesheet that will produce the desired result given the specified input. Of course, it might not make the original poster happy, but it does satisfy the request.
