Anyway based upon your examples I have attached my simplied xml, xsl, and required output.

xml file

<TABLE>
   <DPROW>
       <OBJECT>2</OBJECT>
   </DPROW>
</TABLE>
<TABLE>
      <DPROW>
       <OBJECT>1</OBJECT>
   </DPROW>
   <TABLE>
      <DPROW>
       <OBJECT>3</OBJECT>
        <OBJECT>4</OBJECT>
      </DPROW>
</TABLE>

Each of your examples here have been not well-formed. Note that your first TABLE ends after the first DPROW.
The second then begins, followed by a nested third, but there's only one more end TABLE tag. If that really
reflects your data, that's going to be a problem before any of the rest. Your input has to be well-formed: it's
not a question of nesting, but a question of the basic rules of XML.

Hope that helps!

Chris typo on my part. My mistake.

my xml input file should read as follows

<TABLE>
  <DPROW>
      <OBJECT>2</OBJECT>
  </DPROW>
</TABLE>
<TABLE>
     <DPROW>
      <OBJECT>1</OBJECT>
  </DPROW>
  <TABLE>
     <DPROW>
      <OBJECT>3</OBJECT>
       <OBJECT>4</OBJECT>
     </DPROW>
   </TABLE><- Closing table tag omitted in error.
</TABLE>

Also validating my complete xml file within xmlspy returns no validation errors.

I could send you in the body of this email my complete xml input file structure also.

Let me know.

- Scott
