Hello all,

The following drafts are all in last call status at the W3C, with Feb
15th 2004 being the official cut off date.

XSLT 2.0
http://www.w3c.org/TR/2003/WD-xslt20-20031112/

XPATH 2.0
http://www.w3.org/TR/2003/WD-xpath20-20031112/

XQUERY 1.0
http://www.w3c.org/TR/2003/WD-xquery-20031112/

There has been quite a bit of debate on the various lists about these,
but mostly from the usual suspects and large corporations who have the
time/effort to alter the specification to their liking.

I would especially urge new users to XSLT ( as well as experts ) to
review all the above specifications, and to not be afraid to send their
comments to public-qt-comments@xxxxxx before Feb 15th, even if some of
the topics are complex you can make your opinion known as to which areas
are more impenetrable then others. In any event, this will be your last
chance to make your thoughts known on technologies that you will be
using for the next 5+ years.

Though to make things easy on the editors try to be consistent when
writing comments, refering to spec sections areas...etc... To get good
examples check out;
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-qt-comments/

You must first subscribe to this mailing list before sending an email
which you can do by clicking the following and sending the email;
mailto:public-qt-comments-request@xxxxxx?subject=subscribe You will
receive a confirmation email, whereby you will be asked to click a link
to authorise sending email.

To see 1st hand how these specifications actually work, download the
latest version of the XSLT Processor SAXON from
http://saxon.sourceforge.net , which is the only XSLT processor that
implements XSLT 2.0.

Cheers, Jim Fuller
