In that case could you please post a complete minimal example of your source code, the stylesheet (or stylesheet fragment) exhibiting the problem, and a mockup of your desired output?

My first guess not being correct, I'd need to see more to be able to say what would actually work. (Or someone else will help since I'll be on the road for the next few days.)
