Tom, Here is a little more information. 1) the xml source file has been updated to show where the related information is located 2) the <doclink> can be any number of levels deep. It could be one level below the <item> or it could be 50 levels below it. 3) if you want it, I'd be happy to email you a short file that contains actual source xml Thanks, "Passin, Tom" <tpassin@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: cc: owner-xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: splitting multiple occurrences of an element within another element rrytech.com 09/24/2003 03:27 PM Please respond to xsl-list [ Brian Benson] > Tom, > > I have absolutely NO influence over the source xml. > Yes, that happens so often! > Here is a better example of the source xml that I am working from: > <document form="formname"> <noteinfo unid="123"/> > <item> > <table> > <tablerow> > <tablecell> > <par> > <doclink document="12345" view="12345" database ="12345"/> > </par> > </tablecell> > <tablerow> > <table> > </item> > </document> > > In this sample the dolink is nested deeper than most doclinks > that I would > run across, but it could be nested even deeper. But this fragment does not show where the related document information is located. Also, you do not say whether the nesting level may change or whether the thing will always be nested to the same depth. It makes a difference!
