In regards to the XHTML to PDF transformations and the responses received from my original post: David, Yes, I am aware of html2fo, although I haven't played with it yet. My question was more to the observation that there weren't more of these or, in other words, the technology hadn't matured to the point I was thinking it should have (being new to the technology). I was also puzzled that it seemed like the html2fo download on sourceforge hadn't been updated since spring of last year. That made me wonder why there hasn't been more updates since then... Charles, Thanks for suggesting Cocoon. Actually I installed Cocoon last week and have been looking at the samples and tutorials since. It looks great, but do I really need a whole publishing framework? I guess Cocoon is striking me as overkill. Either I adopt Cocoon for everything or nothing. Wendell, Thanks very much for the thoughtful response. My take-home message there is that the methods are maturing to the point where the transformations are now, at least, possible, but the HTML/XHTML variations mean that the results of transforming to PDF are mixed at best. The cost/benefit ratio isn't where it needs to be. Thanks all!
