My answer is as follows: If you start with http://www.w3schools.com/xsl/default.asp and - after going thru the exampls - you hav further questions you look at http://www.w3schools.com/xsl/xsl_w3celementref.asp. 1. I believed that all reasonably important concepts are written there: BUT: "attribute value templates" actually missing 2. the refence to The XSLT elements from the W3C Recommendation (XSLT Version 1.0). is not linked to http://www.w3.org/TR/xslt11/ BUT: it should 3. if you search around yourself you get garbled by the fact that the language XSL is explained in an XSLT document where the language XSL-FO is explained in an XSL document. With all the obvious complexity to learn (after a while it grows simple) this added and unnessecery complexity might get you lost. At least I lost some hours. Thanks again for the question.
