Florian,

In a template matching the root you can select just the descendant elements you want, evading the others:

<xsl:template match="/">
  <xsl:apply-templates select="root/yup"/>
</xsl:template>

A very simple and effective way. There are also others.

Cheers,
Wendell

like if i have this xml doc:

<root>
  <foo>
   <bar>hi</bar>
  </foo>
  <yup>
    <something />
  </yup>
</root>

is it possible that i start the xslt processs at the /root/yup node..
