Vasu wins the prize, but only slightly ahead of Jarno. The problem was stemming from the fact that I had a variable placed before the param. I changed my variable to a param as well, and it works perfectly now. I'm concerned about any performance hit that may cause though. Is it a problem to declare too many params? I had to change many other former variables to params in the complete XSLT to make this work. Thank you everyone for the speedy response.
