It's amazing what people can invent in order to justify their
unwillingness to part with ignorance.

Many of the good books do not cost more than one would spent at a
supermarket. There are also libraries...

In studying any discipline there are books, which are a must to read.
Without having read them one simply cannot communicate with the
specialists -- he will not be understood and he will not understand
them.

Probably, this must be part of this list's FAQ:

"It would be a waste of time for you to ask and for anybody to answer
your questions, before you've read at least one of the following
books/sources: 

... a list of resources"
