xslt nodename

    <xsl:variable name="Node">
        <xsl:copy-of select="./*[local-name()=$NodeName]"/>
    </xsl:variable>

You called the variable Node but it does not contain a node it contains
a result tree fragment consisting of a root node and an element node.
In XSLT 1 you can not query in to result tree fragmants.

You do not want a copy of the node in the result (which is what copy-of
gives you) you want the original node in the source.

So

<xsl:variable name="Node" select="./*[local-name()=$NodeName]"/>

David
