more strings to your bow, and thusly earning power, then their actual cost;
but if one is frugal

I would suggest Michael Kay's first, as it is so well known, then either of
Jeni's books. This is by far no slight on the others that you have
mentioned, all of which are well presented and generally excellant.

Though probably you need to declare if you are from java / c++/ web camps
