Then I think you'll find that your XSLT engine is using an API that
ignores whatever's in xsl:output (which is only ever a hint) and doing
its own thing.

First try the stylesheet on the commandline writing to a file, then teh
attributes on xsl:output should have an effect. Then you need to find
out how to get the same effect in your AOi which is out of scope of XSLT
(but I'm sure someone on this list will know the answer)
