merge two schemas
Jeni,

At 11:04 AM 3/24/2002, you wrote:
The latter is fairly straightforward, especially if you're using
Saxon, which has this capability built-in. A brief search didn't come
up with anything that turns a DTD into an XML form, so you might have
to create something yourself to do that.

How about utilities that convert DTDs into XML Schema or ReLAX-NG? The Sun ReLAX-NG converter, for example, should work, shouldn't it?

(Since I know you're working on schemas :-) Are there any gotchas in the constraints expressed by either RELaX-NG or XML Schema, as compared to DTDs, that would make this particular pathway (re-express DTD as schema, then process with XSLT) dangerous?

Does anyone have a stylesheet yet (or other means) that goes back from Schema or RELaX into DTD syntax?

Cheers,
Wendell
