Or can you try the file below directly in XSL Formatter without a stylesheet (this methodology was how I learned a lot of XSLFO, just by trying things out ... my book hyperlinks to the specification so I used the initial skeleton of hyperlinks in my own book to learn the language to fill out the book).

If the text below doesn't look like your text, then perhaps there are ancestral inherited attributes you aren't telling us about?
