Subject: xsl processor detector

hi,

i am using msxml3.0 on my development machine to work with xsl and
everything is fine. i am using ie5.5 and win2k.

when the product is deployed, there are going to be clients who use ie 5 and
possibly ie 4 with win98 or some other platform.

what i am looking for is
1. an auto installation program/script that checks the version of msxml on
the client and if it is not msxml 3.0 or more, install it and later on just
use that. (something similar to checking if u have macromedia flash
installed on your client and installs it if not there)

2. what is the difference between replace mode and side-by-side mode. any
documentation available on this.

thanks in advance for your help.

TP.
