  It seems like you encounter some kind of entities which usually start with
& and end with ;.  Since you didn't include an example of what you are doing
I can stipulate to form an answer.  You should give examples of the input
and output, and example of problem words and their output.  This can help
people to answer your question correctly.  Hope this help.
