No. A stylesheet is a well-formed XML document. > I would like to be able to end a table, insert a new table, > then restart the first table-- You haven't begun to understand the language! Creating a node in the result tree is an atomic action. A table is a node in the result tree, you can't create half a node at a time. I can only suggest you read pp 622-627 of my XSLT Programmers' Reference. I ordered your book yesterday and looked at the whole problem and thought of some other ways to deal with it. I'll attempt to rewrite it all!
