sorry but I can't understand that sentence. You can have any number of
templates in a stylesheet, in any order. They are all children of the
xsl:stylesheet element.

I use copy-of which would copy the whole branch. children and
attributes. Actually I didn't notice that you wanted to change the element
name from Point to POINT
so you want a template for Point instead of what I posted before:


<xsl:template match="Polygon">
  <RING>
  <xsl:apply-templates/>
  </RING>
</xsl:template>


<xsl:template match="Point">
  <POINT>
   <xsl:copy-of select="@*"/>
  </POINT>
</xsl:template>
