Sorry for not being elaborate,

Actually what i want to do is that i want to get the value of <payWeekDay> from a jsp form and the use that to change the value of the node in the xml means the new value comes from an external source its not constant.

- take the copy stlesheet (have a look at the XSLT spec or the FAQ)
- write a template which catches payWeekDay elements and do the
  transformation you need
