I have replied to this but as it concerns mostly non-XSL stuff I
sent it to Sara direct rather than clog the list with it. Anyone
interested will find it at http://oimelc.ucc.ie/XMLvsWord.xml

This should possibly be pursued on XML-L[1] rather than here.
