Shoot.  My omniscience has obviously worn off.  I think I was thinking
about weird compatibility with old HTML browsers that couldn't handle
> in attribute values because they think it's the end of the start
tag and you've just forgotten your closing quote.  Obviously not a
problem with XSLT processors.  Thanks.
