At the MS Developer sessionions I've attended recently (.NET Framework Overview Jan 18, 2000 in Vancouver BC), the MS representative (I believe his first name was Dejan but I'm not 100% certain) stated clearly that at some point in the future there will be CLI (and .Net obviously) implementations in other platforms. I believe he specifically mentioned Linux. The impression I definately got was that MS was planning through its partners to see that .NET and CLI are available on a number of different platforms (just not from MS). Besides, why else would they submit CLI and C# to ECMA? So I stand behind my statement but I'd really like a Microsoft body confirm or deny what I believe is true.
