Thanks Mike. I can just pass the contents of the variable into the template. It's not as elegent as what I was trying to do, but it will still work. Brian No, it's not possible. All variable references in XSLT must explicitly spell out the name of the variable; you can't calculate it. In Perl you'd just do ${$temp}. Frustrating, isn't it? What is the problem you are trying to use this approach to solve?
