No, not really, but there are node sets which are much more than arrays
;=)

If you want to build a node set in a variable, you will often need a
proprietary extension to transform result tree fragments into node sets,
though:

<xsl:variable name="array">
<val>1<val>
<val>2<val>
<val>3<val>
<val>...<val>
<val>n<val>
</xsl:variable>

$array is a result tree fragment and you'll need a proprietary extension
to convert it into $array-ns which can be accessed using XPath (for
instance) "$array-ns/val[2]".

Hope this helps.
