alert in xsl
this should work:

<script>

   alert('boo');

   <xsl:variable name="foo" select="goo"/>

   alert('$foo');

   var someArray = [0,1,2]

   for (i=0;i<someArray.length;i++) {
      alert('$foo: ' + i);
   }

</script>
