Re: syntax question: using a variable inside format-number()
| It returns a nice percentage. However, I have several Asset categories so a
| variable ($curcat) has been set in my stylesheet to keep track of the
| current category.
|
| I tried the following:
| <xsl:value-of select="format-number(/AssetAnalyzer/$curcat,'#00%')"/>
|
| but it bombed giving a "Node Test expected" error.

If $curcat already contains the string value you're
trying to format (or the element that contains the string value)
you can just do:

select="format-number($curcat,'#00%')"
