If you are unable to switch to another processor, you could always
resort to the unpleasant disable-output-escaping hack.

The following might work.

<xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes"><![CDATA[&#x3b0;&#x3bb;&#x3b7;]]></xsl:text>
