I got a very basic question but it's very confusing for me.

what is the difference between these namespaces?

1) <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
2) <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl">

Because if I use the first one,it does not display the attribute values from
xml(ie @company).Only the second one does.

And Only the second one supports the xsl:import or xsl:variable
declaration.why?

Thanx,
Francis
